This ArtWeaver image is a riff on Jonathon Lasker’s painting The Value of Pictures. The title comes from an article I read recently about street performers coming out for the season.  Years ago, I was coming up from the Metro in Washington D.C. when I heard an angelic voice rising up the tunnel, a sweet operatic soprano.  Then I noticed objects careening down the middle of the escalator on the rail between the two sections. I realized they were quarters being rolled by admirers to the performer below us.
